Problem Statement
Elderly people face difficulty in cleaning their houses due to physical pain, reduced mobility and declining energy levels. Busy working people and elderly individuals often face difficulties maintaining household cleanliness because cleaning is time-consuming, physically demanding, and repetitive. Tasks such as cleaning walls, glass windows, and toilet floors require frequent bending, stretching, reaching, or standing for long periods. Cleaning elevated windows and walls can also be difficult to perform safely. Most existing household cleaning robots are designed mainly for floors and cannot effectively clean vertical walls, glass windows, and toilet floors with a single system. They also have limited ability to navigate around obstacles such as wall hangings, shelves, fixtures, and other household objects. Therefore, there is a need for an autonomous multi-surface cleaning robot designed to reduce the physical effort and time required for household cleaning.
Solution
one robot -one house. Autonomous Multi-Surface Cleaning Robot
In Detail
Cleaning walls, glass windows, and toilet floors is a time-consuming and repetitive household task. Different surfaces require different cleaning methods, so our idea is to simplify the problem to just one robot for your entire house. Toilet floors also require frequent cleaning because of dust, dirt, moisture, and stains. Currently, most household cleaning robots are designed primarily for floors and cannot effectively clean vertical walls, glass surfaces, and toilet floors using a single system. Therefore, there is a need for an autonomous multi-surface cleaning robot that can intelligently identify different surfaces, move safely across floors, walls, and glass windows, detect and avoid obstacles, and perform appropriate cleaning actions for each surface. The proposed robot will combine vacuum-based adhesion, wheels/tracks, sensors, cameras, artificial intelligence, and interchangeable cleaning mechanisms to provide automated cleaning across multiple household surfaces while reducing human effort, cleaning time, and the risks associated with manually cleaning difficult-to-reach areas.
